It is likely to be a decade since Uttarakhand state came in existence. But we are yet to achieve our objective behind the forming the new state. People of Uttarakhand had dreamt for new state with a hope for fast development, employment of specially hill areas and stopping the migration but this dream not seem to be appearing true.

Still the migration rate is very high. There is very low employment in village areas. Though, it has been generally said that Uttarakhand has many potential for self employment. However, such self-employment sources have not been explored and implemented.

Here is this topic for all of you to suggest the sources of self employment in Uttarakhand. Let us who see who suggest the best?

फलोत्पादन की कवायद नहीं ला रही रंग


रुद्रप्रयाग। जिले में फलोत्पादन कागजों में तो आसमान छू रहा है, लेकिन धरातल पर स्थिति ठीक उलट है। हकीकत यह है कि उद्यान विभाग माल्टे के अलावा किसी भी फल पर ध्यान नहीं दे रहा। ऐसे में सेब, नाशपाती व आडू का कहीं नामोनिशान तक नहीं है।शासन से लाखों रुपये मिलने के बाद भी जिले में फलोत्पादन की उम्मीदों को गहरा धक्का लग रहा है। इसमें विभाग की लापरवाही प्रमुखता से जिम्मेदार दिख रही है। हालांकि बैठक में उद्यान विभाग अपनी वाहवाही के लिए कागजों में फलों के उत्पादन के लंबे चौड़े आंकड़े तो तैयार कर देता है, लेकिन हकीकत यह है कि धरातल पर स्थिति ठीक उलट है। उद्यान विभाग के आंकड़ों में फलों के नाम पर केवल माल्टा ही दर्ज है, जबकि अन्य फलों के प्रति विभाग खास रुचि नहीं दिखा रहा है।

यहां यह बताना जरूरी है कि माल्टा भी लोग उद्यान विभाग की सहायता से नहीं, बल्कि स्वयं इसका उत्पादन करते हैं। इसके बावजूद विभाग इसके उत्पादन की सफलता अपनी झोली में डालता है। आम की बात करें, तो पहले की अपेक्षा इसका उत्पादन काफी घट गया है, जबकि सेब, नाशपाती व आड्डू का उत्पादन को नाममात्र भी नहीं रह गया है। चालू वित्तीय वर्ष में विभाग को 17.25 लाख रुपये मिले हैं, जिसमें से 10.70 लाख खर्च किए जा चुके हैं, लेकिन धरातल पर उत्पादन कहीं भी संतोषजनक नहीं दिख रहा है। हालांकि, कागजों पर इस वर्ष दस हेक्टेयर में आम, तीन हेक्टेयर में आंवला, तीन हेक्टेयर में अमरूद, छह हेक्टेयर में साइट्रस का उत्पादन किया गया, जबकि सेब, नाशपाती व आडू शून्य रहा।

Herbal medicine makes Uttarakhand rural women self-reliant

Ramnagar (Uttarakhand), Mar 24 (ANI): A self-help group is training rural women in herbal farming and medicines in Uttarakhand to make them self reliant.

Women of the Ramnagar area of Nainital District have joined the Navjyoti self-help group and are being trained in herb farming. They have created a small garden to grow herbs and from these herbs they are making medicines.

The self-help group consists of 19 women where they make various tonics, syrups and herbal oils.

"When we came to know about the uses of herbs, we circulated it around us because in our village, these herbs are easily available, especially in forest areas. They are very beneficial for us and have no side effects," said Nanda, President, Navjyoti.

The herbal medicines prepared by this group are quite popular among the people living in this area and sometimes when the medicines are not ready they place their orders before hand so that once the medicines are ready they receive their medicines on time.

Suchetna Seva Samity is training this self-help group. According to them the reason behind the training is because herbs are easily available in this area.

"The herbs are naturally available in this area and besides sometimes allopathic medicines have their own side effects. Therefore we thought that if the herbs are cheap and easily available, then we should train these women to make herbal medicines so that they can make use of it for their health related problems as well as a source of income," said Jaya, Coordinator, Suchetna Sewa Samity, Ramnagar.

These women are now planning to sell their herbal medicines in other villages also. Although they are living in a rural area but they have come up with their own self-employment ventures and are determined to improve their living conditions in the years to come. By Vipul Goel (ANI)

 ४.    ऐपण - जो की उत्तराखंड के बहुत पुरानी कला है जिसको की जीवित रखना और प्रचार की जरूरत है यह भी स्वरोजगार paida karne me sahah हो सकता है

Herbal medicine makes Uttarakhand rural women self-reliant

Nainital, Jan 27 (ANI): Uttarakhand women have formed a self-help group where they make and sell herbal medicine from the plants found in the forests around there.


Buzz up!Most of these women do not have any formal education or training but this group allows them to make an income.


It is a long process, which begins with collecting nirgundi (chaste tree) leaves, which is crushed into a paste.The paste is then mixed with water and cooked to make a herbal oil.

"First we take the juice out from the leaves, then we mix it with five glasses of oil and put one glass of oil in the water to cook it. We then put carom seeds in the mixture and after it settles in the pan, we put camphor in," said Basvi Devi, a worker.

"Nirgundi (chaste tree) oil is good for aches and sprains. It's also good for back pain. It also promotes natural sleep. This is what people use it for," said Shipavali Devi, a woman worker.

They sell large bottles of Nirgundi (chaste tree) oil for 100 rupees while the smaller bottles go for 50 rupees

However, with local investment, the industry has potential for growth.

Along with these women, projects like this can also benefit the economies of rural India, which accounts for around 70 percent of country's a billion populations. (ANI)

दुग्ध उत्पादकों के हितों को कृतसंकल्प है संघ: खोलिया


अल्मोड़ा : दुग्ध उत्पादक सहकारी समिति बमनगांव ने दुग्ध उत्पादकों को बोनस वितरित किया। इस मौके पर मुख्य अतिथि दुग्ध संघ के अध्यक्ष गिरीश खोलिया ने कहा कि संघ दुग्ध उत्पादकों के हितों के लिए कृत संकल्प है।

उन्होंने दुग्ध उत्पादकों से कहा कि वह अच्छी नस्ल के दुधारु पशु पालकर अपनी आय बढ़ाएं। श्री खोलिया ने कहा कि संघ दुग्ध उत्पादकों की समस्याओं के निराकरण के लिए कृत संकल्प है। दुग्ध संघ के प्रभारी उपार्जन सुरेश बेलवाल ने दुग्ध संघ द्वारा दुग्ध उत्पादकों को दी जा रही सुविधाओं एवं विभिन्न योजनाओं की जानकारी दी। डा.जीके उपाध्याय ने पशुओं की बीमारी एवं उपचार संबंधी जानकारी दी।

इससे पूर्व समिति के सचिव जगदीश बुधौड़ी ने समिति का लेखा-जोखा प्रस्तुत किया। मुख्य अतिथि श्री खोलिया ने दुग्ध उत्पादकों को 29 हजार की धनराशि का बोनस वितरित किया। उन्होंने उत्कृष्ट तीन दुग्ध उत्पादकों गोपाल सिंह, भैरव दत्त व नवीन सिंह को भी पुरस्कृत किया।

64800 फलदार पौध वितरण का रखा लक्ष्य Feb 10, 10:15 pm (Source Dainik Jagran)

चम्बा(नई टिहरी गढ़वाल)। बारिश होते ही उद्यान विभाग भी फलदार पौधों के रोपण को लेकर सक्रिय हो गया है। शीतकालीन फलदार पौधरोपण कार्यक्रम के अंतर्गत इस बार विभाग ने सेब, नाशपती, आडू, पुलम, खुमानी के 64800 पौधे किसानों को वितरण करने का लक्ष्य रखा है।

इस बार अच्छी बारिश होने पर उद्यान विभाग ने राहत की सांस ली है। चार फरवरी से मुख्य वितरण केंद्र चम्बा में विभाग ने विभिन्न प्रजातियों के फलदार पौधे मंगाने शुरू कर दिए थे। यदि बारिश न होती तो पोधरोपण विभाग के लिये मुसीबत बन सकता था। जिला उद्यान निरीक्षक सत्यपाल सिहं नेगी ने बताया कि बारिश की संभावना को देखते हुये पूर्व में ही पौधे मंगा दिये थे। अब पर्याप्त बारिश हो गयी है, जिससे पौधे आसानी से पनप पायेंगे। उन्होने बताया कि सेब की स्पर प्रजाति की 43300 पौधे, आडू की रेडजोन प्रजाति की 7750 पौध, पुलम की सेंटारोजा प्रजाति की 5000 पौध और खुमानी की न्यूकैसल प्रजाति के 3000 पौधों के अलावा नाशपाती की नवीन प्रजाति के 5750 पौध वितरण केंद्र चम्बा में उपलब्ध है।

मेहता जी बहुत बढ़िया जानकारी दी आपने  . हमारे गाँव में सारे खेत बंजर पड़े हैं जब हम गाँव में पढाई किया करते थे तभी हमने कई बार वृक्षारोपण किया था अखरोट अमरुद संतरे के बहुत से पेड़ लगाये थे मगर उचित संरक्षण न मिलने की वजह से लोगों ने सब नष्ट कर दिए ४-५ पेड़ अखरोट के बचे हैं उन पर काफी अखरोट लगते हैं तो अब बहुत बढ़िया लगता है वृक्षारोपण के साथ साथ इनके उचित संरक्षण की भी नीति हो तो आने वाले समय में अच्छे परिणाम निकल के आयेंगे

U'khand wildlife tourism grows

But during the recession period also, wildlife had remained a major tourist attraction in the hill state, home to some of the world’s famous tiger reserves like Jim Corbett National Park.

During the year 2008-09, nearly 292,000 wildlife lovers visited important national parks and sanctuaries in the state as against 247,000 in 2007-08. And the Corbett National Park, which alone attracted 202,000 tourists during the period, continues to remain the first choice for visitors from home and abroad, says a latest book of the state forest department for 2008-09. While a total of 15,503 wildlife enthusiasts from foreign countries visited Uttarakhand, nearly half (8,757) of them had gone to Corbett Park alone last year.

Beating all other wildlife parks and sanctuaries in the state, the Corbett National Park also earned revenue of Rs 306.38 lakh for the department when the total revenue through wildlife tourism in the state stood at Rs 378.31 lakh as against Rs 341.95 lakh during the previous year. But only negative point was that the arrival of foreign tourists failed to grow during the period. The number actually came down to 15,503 from 16,463 in 2007-08.

Ever since Uttarakhand came into being, wildlife tourism is growing leaps and bound since 2000-01 when only 66,776 tourists had arrived in the state. The figure reached the 100,000 mark in 2002-03 and 200,000 in 2006-07.

Rural tech in U'khand impresses Union Minister

Dehradun: Technologies in the rural areas of Uttarakhand seem to have impressed Union minister of state for rural development Agatha Sangma, who on Monday said she would like to take them to the North-East.

Sangma today visited some of villages in the state where simple technologies have made its inhabitants self-reliant.

After visiting the villages of Tokwala, Jatowala and Fatehgram on the outskirts of Dehradun, she expressed her desire to take the technologies to the North-East so that the rural population there can also earn their livelihood using them.

 
The NCP MP witnessed various applications of watermills in Tokwala village, where people are using its upgraded model for grinding floor to producing power.

Later, she visited the food processing unit of Kala Bist and her husband Trilok Bist from where the couple is supplying bakery items, pickles and other things to the people living not only in nearby areas but also in different towns of the state.

 The minister also went to Fatehgram village, which was adopted and transformed into a model village by the students of Doon School.

Praising the efforts of Himalayan Environment Science and Conservation, a Dehradun-based NGO, for bringing a change in the lives of people through technologies, Sangma expressed her desire to take them to the North East also

जड़ी-बूटी उत्पादन के प्रति बढ़ा किसानों का रुझान

रुद्रप्रयाग। जिले में अब किसानों का रूझान जड़ी-बूटी उत्पादन की ओर बढ़ रहा है। सरकारी प्रयासों से जिले के किसानों को उत्पादन के लिए कई तरह की जड़ी-बूटियों की पौध उपलब्ध कराकर लगातार प्रेरित किया जा रहा है, वहीं पतंजलि योगपीठ हरिद्वार के सौजन्य से जनपद हर्बल गार्डन बनने की तैयारी भी जोरों पर है।

जिले के कई गांवों में किसान जड़ी-बूटी उत्पादन में दिलचस्पी दिखा रहे हैं। पहाड़ी क्षेत्र जड़ी-बूटियों की खान हैं। हालांकि अब तक लोग जानकारी के अभाव में जड़ी बूटियों का उत्पादन नहीं करते थे। जिले के केदारनाथ, तुंगनाथ, मद्महेश्वर सहित कई क्षेत्रों में काफी मात्रा में बहुमूल्य जड़ी-बूटियां होती हैं। सरकारी स्तर पर भी जड़ी बूटी उत्पादन को बढ़ावा देने के लिए भेषज विकास संघ भी किसानों को चयनित कर उन्हें विभिन्न तरह की जड़ी-बूटियों की पौध उपलब्ध करा रहा है। ऐसे में कई संस्थानों ने गांव के वैद्यों व किसानों को प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम के माध्यम से भी जड़ी-बूटियों की जानकारी दी जा रही है। इससे लगता है कि आने वाले समय में उत्पादन के प्रति किसानों की दिलचस्पी बढे़गी। इस वर्ष जिले में अब तक किसानों ने कूट के 88000 हजार पौधे, बड़ी ईलायची के पांच हजार तथा रीठा के तीन हजार पौधे रोपे हैं। भेषज संघ के सचिव वाचस्पति सेमवाल ने कहा कि किसानों को लगातार जड़ी-बूटी उत्पादन के लिए प्रेरित किया जा रहा है। इसमें काफी हद तक सफलता भी हाथ लगी है। वहीं अब योगपीठ हरिद्वार के सौजन्य से जनपद के खांकरा के पास हर्बल गार्डन बनाने की तैयारी चल रही है। इसके बनने से क्षेत्र में जड़ी-बूटी उत्पादन को एक नई दिशा मिल सकेगी। पतंजलि योगपीठ के आचार्य बालकृष्ण ने यहां स्थापित होने वाले हर्बल गार्डन में क्षेत्रीय लोगों का विशेष सहयोग लेने की बात कही है।
